Root Drencher should ideally be installed at the time of tree planting.
|

2 years on and photographed in September 08, this
planting in Hackney has flourished with the tree putting on 100%
girth growth (the tree restraint can now be removed). The watering
period during drought periods is one application of 30 litres
every 10 days to 2 weeks. This is achieved by simply filling the
Arbotech Root Drencher to overflowing and then moving to the next
tree.
|
| Simply open up the unit
from its flat pack form and close off the base by folding the
tabs over. |
| Before completely filling in the tree
planting pit rest the Root Drencher firmly in contact with the top
of the tree root ball with the back of the unit resting against the
tree support post. |
| When used as part of
the Arbortech system, the Arbortech Tree Restraint distances the Root
Ball from the support post, Root Drencher can then be positioned between
the post and the tree |
Before closing off the
top of the Root Drencher drop a couple of shovels of soil into the
unit to help facilitate a
partial water seal at the base, (at this time a handful of slow release
fertilizer can be introduced if required). |
Close the top of the
unit off and secure to the fixing post using a single screw or nail,
(see illustration opposite). Ensure that the Root
Drencher base remains in firm contact with the top of the root ball.
|
| Finish filling in the
tree planting pit thus partially burying the Root Drencher base. |
